That's exactly what Luke and Jennifer Anderson did in the year 2021.  They had a dream and a passion and they combined the two to cofound the event, Cookout for a Cause. They started this event with a dream in mind - to raise money for a charity whose mission they believe in. The Invisible Wounds Project is that charity. Their mission: to provide access to quality therapy services, wellness activities, social connection, and other support services to Minnesota’s military, first responders, frontline medical staff, corrections, dispatch and their families related to mental health, PTSD and suicide issues.

Luke Anderson has found a small niche in the Instagram market as a grilling "influencer" and Weber Grilling Ambassador and is using his tools to encourage others to join in his passion. Check out his Instagram profile @BigBlueGrillin. 

With the help of some pretty amazing volunteers, Luke and Jennifer have seen this fundraising event go from a small get together of friends and family to a full time adventure/opportunity/success story. Each year, Cookout for a Cause grows exponentially and has been able to double the fundraising goal year after year with the help of local businesses, major donors and friends. 

The goal for the 2024 grilling fundraiser event is to help even more families who benefit from the Invisible Wounds Project.
